Why We Love CSLA

When I attended CSLA I was given the incredible opportunity to learn from teachers on a close, personal level. This gave me an opportunity to grow into myself, to find myself in a safe environment, and then to break free into the world.

Christian Blair ‘15 ~ UCLA

In comparison to my college classmates, I seemed to be more prepared in writing essays. I think my teachers in high school did a great job at helping me know what to expect when I got to college. I haven’t been surprised by anything since I’ve been here.

Halah Grobey ‘14 ~ Whitworth University

I absolutely loved being involved in the theatre program at CSLA. All of my fondest memories of high school came out of that time in my life.

Shelby Ambrose ‘12 ~ Colorado Christian University

C.S Lewis Academy has had a positive impact on my whole family. This is my 11th year being involved with the school and I firmly believe that is a nurturing environment for all students and their families.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your average class size?

For the 2021-22 school year our school-wide average class size is 13-14 students.

What religion/denomination is CSLA?

C.S. Lewis Academy is not affiliated with any church or denomination. CSLA families attend many different churches in the greater Yamhill County & Portland Metro areas. Non Denominational chapel services are held each week for students & staff. Parents are invited to attend. Church attendance is not required for enrollment at CSLA.

What time does school begin and end?

For the 2021-22 school year, GS classes are 8am – 2:50pm and MS & HS classes run from 8:10am – 3:00pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.  Wednesday is late start with GS classes 9:15am - 2:50pm and MS & HS 9:30am - 3:00pm. This staggered running time helps ease parking lot traffic and avoids congestion in Davis Hall, presently home to both GS & MS classes.

Do you offer after-school care?

No, BUT students may arrive on campus up to 30 minutes before classes start, and may stay up to 30 minutes after the end of the school day. Our neighbor and co-tenant, Open Bible Learning Center, offers after-school care, and would be happy to discuss options that will fit your needs.

Tell me about your curriculum.

Rather than a single publisher, we draw from a variety of curricula, giving our teachers the freedom within our curriculum guide to give instruction that allows them to teach students of all learning styles. Bible is incorporated into every subject.

Do you have extracurricular activities?

Yes! CSLA offers a variety of activities beyond the classroom, all subject to yearly interest. We have seasonal sports (soccer, volleyball, basketball, track & field, and golf) for 3rd thru 12th grades, subject to yearly interest.

Our theatre program performs several productions each year.

Other activities include Green Team, outreach projects, yearbook, mission trips, MS outdoor school, student government, and worship team for chapel.
