Q1: Are you be teaching on-campus?

A1: As of January 11, our elementary school will be open full-time, on-campus.  Our MS and HS will continue to meet for 2 hours each morning, followed by our teacher-led, learning-at-home model in the afternoon.  The MS/HS are slated to move to full-time, on-campus on Jan. 25, 2021.

Q2: Will students be required to wear masks?

A2: We are following all OHA guidelines which require face coverings at all times.  We do allow very limited use of face shields with doctor approval.  Other exceptions include teachers for learning impaired or ESL students.

Q3: What if I don't want my child to wear a mask/they have a condition that prevents him/her from wearing one?

A3: There is a medical exception for face coverings that will need medical documentation.  In this case, we allow for the use of a face shield.

Q4: What happens if we get started on campus and have to move to Teacher-led, Learning-at-Home?

A4: What we do know is that we need to be flexible and nimble during these times.  Should we need to move in or out of our TLLH program, we are ready for that challenge.  Last spring we showed we were one of the best schools in the area in dealing with the at-home model.  This year we've had more time to develop more skills and prevent more of the issues related to this type of instruction.  Again, however, we will do all possible to stay on-campus.  At this time, we believe once we open back up to full-time, on-campus, we will be able to remain utilizing that model.

Q5: Will there be extra cleaning/sanitization of the school?

A5: YES! We are working on several levels of sanitation additions.  Our rooms and teaching supplies will be more thoroughly cleaned every evening.  We sanitize ongoing at times and at least 1-2 times during the day.  We invested in sanitizing equipment including UVC lights.

Q6: Will there be sports?

A6: The OSAA has postponed all high school sports until February.  Generally, fall sports will be played in March/April, spring sports in April/May and winter sports in May/June.  We allowed for workouts in most sports during the fall and plan to continue, as much as allowed, in January.  Our elementary and middle school programs will likely follow the high school calendar at some level.

Q7: What do I do if my child comes down with COVID?

A7: CSLA will notify Yamhill County Health and Human Services and follow the instructions on the Planning for COVID-19 Scenarios in Schools guide from the OHA/ODE.   Please see more details in our Operational Blueprint and Communicable Disease Management plan.

Q8: What will happen if a teacher gets COVID?

A8: CSLA will notify Yamhill County Health and Human Services and follow the instructions on the Planning for COVID-19 Scenarios in Schools guide from the OHA/ODE.  Please see more details in our Operational Blueprint and Communicable Disease Management plan.

Q10: What about transferring to CSLA in January, assuming you are open for on campus teaching?  Is that a possibility?

A10: We always welcome transfers.  However, given the complexity of this year, we will be making staffing decisions soon which will affect the total size of our classes.  We are expecting space limitations for all classes mid-year.
