CSLA partners with George Fox University (GFU) to offer two ways for juniors and seniors to earn college credit while completing high school requirements.
Direct Credit (GFU)
Online (George Fox Digital with a GFU instructor)
In person (on the GFU campus with a GFU instructor)
Counts toward CSLA graduation as elective or, with approval, selected core credits.
Dual Credit (at CSLA)
In person at CSLA with a qualified CSLA teacher
Students earn both high school and GFU credit in approved courses taught on our campus.
Juniors or seniors
In good standing
Dual Credit & Direct Credit for Core: cumulative GPA 3.8+
Administrative recommendation/approval required
For Elective Credit
May take GFU courses (online or in person) for CSLA elective credit.
Core classes at CSLA may not be replaced by GFU courses when using Direct Credit for electives.
For Approved Core Credit
With 3.8+ GPA and approvals, students may replace up to two CSLA core classes per semester with approved GFU courses from this list:
11th Grade: Ethics, European Literature, Science
12th Grade: Economics, American Literature, Science
The following cannot be taken via Direct Credit: Bible, Health, Algebra 2, World History 2* , US History*
*if CSLA is offering the course as Dual Credit on campus.
Attendance & Schedule
Students approved for Direct Credit may opt out of Wednesday electives (if elective requirements are met) but must attend Homeroom & Chapel (11:15–1:10).
Students may not remain on campus during periods when they are not enrolled in a CSLA class.
While in Direct Credit, students remain fully enrolled, full-time at CSLA.
GFU semester courses transfer to 0.5 high school credit on the CSLA transcript.
Approvals & Transcripts
Every Direct Credit class must be pre-approved by the Academic Dean and signed by parents and CSLA administration before the end of the school year.
At semester end, the student must order an official GFU transcript sent directly to the Academic Dean (no screenshots).
Taken on CSLA’s campus with a qualified high school teacher.
Same eligibility as above (junior/senior, 3.8+ GPA, good standing, approvals).
If CSLA offers a core class as Dual Credit, students cannot replace that class with a GFU Direct Credit version.
Meet with the Academic Dean to review graduation progress and plan courses.
GFU Online: registration can occur after that meeting (most predictable).
GFU In Person: you may “park” a seat in spring for fall; final placement is confirmed close to the GFU start date (as late as 2 days before classes begin).
CSLA publishes the high school schedule in July for fall planning.
Note: During the current phase, CSLA accepts transfer credit only from GFU (our partner).
$75 per credit hour (payable to George Fox University) for both Direct and Dual Credit courses.
